Daily Schedule

Having a routine is beneficial for young children for many reasons. Among many others, it frees a child from worry of “what comes next” and allows him/her to focus on what’s important in childhood: play, explore, discover. It also helps to build self-confidence. When a child can predict “what comes next”, he/she gains a greater sense of autonomy.

For these reasons, we have a schedule that we will follow every day. The times are approximate, as the order of the events is much more important than the actual times at which they occur.

9:00 AM: ARRIVAL/DROP OFF
Families and children arrive at school, connect
ing to the environment and to one another.

9:05 AM: MORNING COMMUNITY CIRCLE
We welcome each other and sing a few songs/tell a story. Families are welcome to stay.

9:15 AM: PLAY, EXPLORATION, ART, MUSIC, LITERACY

10:00 AM: HAND WASHING, SNACK
We all sit down together for a snack, whether the children choose to eat or not. It’s a time to talk together.

10:30 AM: WALKS, EXPLORATION, PLAY, ART, MUSIC, LITERACY

12:15 PM: HAND WASHING, LUNCH

We have lunch as a group. Sitting together around food is a beautiful way to share stories, talk, and

get to know each other.

12:50 PM: GOODBYE CIRCLE
We sing a few songs and say goodbye, families are welcome and encouraged to participate.

1:00 PM: PICK UP
Children reconnect with their families and the program ends.

We have a camping toilet at the base camp to be used by the children ONLY. It is thoroughly cleaned

and disinfected daily. There is a mobile hand washing station and plenty of disinfecting wipes and hand

sanitizer available.
